I had a really comfortable stay at Art Deco Masonic Hotel in Napier. the staff was excellent, and the location was marvelous. I also enjoyed having a decent size and recently refurbished room on the balcony. It was great to explore the authentic restaurant near the hotel, and the warm weather made it even better.

The two rooms we booked only had two single beds in each. That is real Art Deco I suppose but certainly would have gone elsewhere if we had known this before booking.

I travel the north island on a 2 monthly cycle and look for comfortable, non air conditoned accommodation, preferably in the centre of town. Your hotel meets these requirements with the added benefit of 3 restaurants/bars on the premises.
The only fault (which is quite common through out motels) if you can call it that was the fridge in my room (152) was rather noisy. This will not prevent me from staying again however as i really did enjoy my stay.

The superior queen room we stayed in was a good size and newly remodeled with fun decor. the location was particularly good for traveling around Napier, next to shops and eateries, as well as the seafront and restaurants. - It was also very close to excellent cafes.

The price was very good, the location was excellent, there was a bit of olde world charm about it. I would definitely return to this hotel if I visited Napier again.
There was no parking for the hotel and the metres close by were usually taken up.
